UNION COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY OPEN HOUSE The Union County Historical Society will be holding an Open House on Saturday
There will be 34 photo albums involving pictures from the past of Eastern Oregon, Union County, Baker County, La Grande and other locations. Historical Society books will be for sale including a new reprint of the 1960 Annual. DVDs and CDs of La Grande, Union County, Monuments and Markers as well as taping of the speakers. Special Quest Speakers include:  Gary Webster on “Our Pioneer Heritage” Bob Girdner of High Valley telling of his license plate collection and the history of the first Oregon license plates Dick Strycker doing a reenactment/talk of early Oregon history LaVern Draper of High Valley who talked about flying airplanes fighting, forest fires in Eastern Oregon, his work at Hot Lake Sanatorium as a bellhop and his time working for the Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor.
